The most radical innovations often don’t arise within established corporations, but in laboratories and the minds of young researchers and students. UJEP actively builds an ecosystem that allows these ideas to grow into independent companies—so-called spin-off companies. CTTZ UJEP acts as a strategic partner here, helping to bridge the “valley of death” between science and the first sale.

Why start a spin-off with us?
Scientific studies on university entrepreneurship (e.g., Shane, 2004) show that university spin-offs have a up to 30% higher survival rate than standard tech startups because they are built on deep, verified know-how. We add a business layer to this foundation.

How CTTZ supports entrepreneurship:

• Incubation and Mentoring: In cooperation with the Innovation Centre of the Ústí Region (ICUK), we offer management training, pitching, and business plan development.
• Legal Architecture: We set up licensing agreements between the university and the spin-off so that the company is attractive to future investors (VC-ready).
