Centre for Technology and Knowledge Transfer

The Centre for Technology and Knowledge Transfer (CTTZ) is a strategic pillar of Jan Evangelista Purkyně University in Ústí nad Labem. We operate as a specialized workplace created to provide university-wide support for knowledge and technology transfer activities. We serve as a bridge, translating the scientific and research potential of our faculties into real-world applications that enhance corporate competitiveness and the quality of life within our region and beyond.

Since September 2024, UJEP has been a proud member of the Transfera.cz association. This membership places us within an elite network of transfer offices in the Czech Republic, allowing us to advocate for the interests of our scientific community and develop transfer activities according to the highest national and international standards.

Our Competencies and Services

We provide comprehensive assistance and expert support in the following areas:

  • Commercialization of R&D Results: We identify commercially viable results and design optimal paths for their market application, including licensing and searching for strategic investors.
  • Intellectual Property Management: We offer complete services in selecting and securing appropriate forms of protection (patents, utility models, industrial designs, trademarks). We turn your ideas into legally protected assets.
  • Contract and Collaborative Research: We facilitate collaboration between university experts and commercial entities, ranging from bespoke contract research to joint innovation projects supported by national and European grants.
  • Spin-off Companies: We support the creation and development of university spin-off companies. We provide methodical guidance in transforming university know-how into independent business entities.
  • Education in Technology Transfer: We build an innovation culture at the university by organizing training sessions and seminars focused on intellectual property protection, project management, and connecting science with practice.
  • Know-how and Expert Databases: We serve as a central access point for external partners to reach UJEP’s unique knowledge and technological equipment.
